I currently work as a freelance English teacher in and around Tarragona, Spain.

I have recently spent two years in Vietnam as a university lecturer and language school manager, and obtained my Cambridge CELTA. Previously, I had worked as an Academic Coordinator for the Middle and High School section of the English department at Colegio Columbia, a bilingual school located in Mexico City. I also worked as a teacher of British and American literature, and was in charge of the literature and creative writing program. I had the opportunity to work with 13 to 19-year-old students on a wide variety of topics involving both traditional and contemporary literature, with a strongly historical and sociological approach to the subject.

I have a Ph.D. in American literature from the University of Versailles (France). Working on that degree allowed me to spend almost three years as a research scholar at Georgia State University (United States). I also hold an M.A. and a B.A. in English from the University of Lorraine (France).

My research interests include contemporary American literature, history of the Americas, education in the Americas, identity in the Americas, North/South cultural interactions, literature of migrants, globalization of the American continent, literary and cultural contacts between Mexico and the United States, hybridization of languages (particularly English and Spanish), redefinition of cultural and intellectual maps of the Americas in the 21th century, and transnational political issues.
